Chumphon Gate

• Chumphon Gate is behind the monument of Thao Suranaree (Yamo) Ratchasima moat area. Created along with the creation of the world by King Narai the Great, ordered the French engineer designed and built on the year 2199 as an outpost walls. Prevent the invasion of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnamese city wall is 1,000 m long and 1,700 m wide rectangular fortified the walls and gates of the city and fortress 15 km outside the four walls of a trench around.
   
• The western Chum Phon Gate is the only 1 of 4 city gates that still stands. The other three gates have been rebuilt. Chum Phon Gate is built of large stones and bricks and covered with plaster. The top is a watchtower made of wood with a tiled roof and decorated in the Thai style.
